Spring Is Here!

Spring is in the air and with it comes Passover and spring break. From now on, time will fly very fast, and before we know it, the end of the year is here! I enjoy very much working with this group of children.
After spring break, we will be focusing on Israel as a main topic. The children will create a book where most of the work is done by researching the internet and books for information.
Some dates to remember:
May 10 - Spring Literacy Festival (evening)
May 18 - evening program (5th grade play, choir performance, dance performance)
Akiva has established a dance group. (children who like to dance.) ALL 3rd graders are in the group. Their first performance is on May 18. Other possible performances are in the summer. More information to come.
I wish you all happy holiday and pleasant spring season!

Welcome to Third Grade
Welcome: Ben, Kane, Taylor, Caroline, Cameron, Andrzej, Daniel, Emily, Earl, Julia and A.
I am very pleased to work with this group of children again. It seems like only yesterday they were in first grade! It is nice to see how much they have grown and matured.
This year we will be focusing on improving Hebrew reading and writing skills as well as expanding vocabulary and use Hebrew as a spoken language. We will also learn bible stories which lend themselves to wonderful discussion about right and wrong, family values, and moral issues.
Since the "Bible stories", "holidays", and "Israel" are subjects taught, mainly in English, the children will also improve their English reading and writing as well as their computer skills.
